Bard class?

Hello, brand new user here, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I am embarking myself in a new campaign as a DM, and one of my players asked me if it's possible to roleplay a bard. I've searched a little around, but failed finding anything useful.
Has anyone played a bard in his/her campaign?
