DEATH SPELL (am I reading it right)

The DEATH SPELL description says that creatures of 8 or more hit dice are immune to its effects. Are player characters considered "creatures?"

My guess is that they are, so I can't have my big bad use it against them.

That is how I read things too. Levels (up to higher levels) equate to Hit Dice as well, so yes... 8th level characters become immune to the effect.

I'd settle for being Immune to just feeling like Death when I don't get enough sleep!
