After building my character I was thinking something was wrong because my weight was so low. Its amazing what money for silk rope and the addition of Elven Waybread does for your pack weight. That's 10 pounds saved right there.

Yeah, I'm eager to see what all people do with the load-outs - it might help me to tweak baseline prices if things seem too easy. (The rations thing has been... not a sore point, but an inconvenience. Perhaps weighing the price difference for an entire party against the cost of buying a donkey to carry standard rations...)

I imagine someone wanting to buy plate won't see 400 gold as plentiful.

I'll roll the dice. Please give me 3 items.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

I really need to get down to getting my equipment bought. A few really difficult days and personal issues have stood in my way of pulling out the books and digging into the Equipment Emporium. Perhaps tomorrow I can finish mine up.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

I'm thinking of buying/changing stuff. What potions/scrolls are available?

Potions are off the potion list, scrolls are 1st level spells or possibly protection scrolls. 150 gets you your pick, 75 gets you a random pull.

Blaze: do you have a preference between scrolls and potions?

Indeed - I figured it was a reasonable way to interpret "caravan guard" and "not good at following orders." Although I suppose hot-headed or insubordinate might qualify... I worked with what I had (hence the nice smelling elf). I can update that to clueless if you prefer ;)
