Samantha doesn't know the first thing about navigation and course plotting...unless it's something she got from the sphere or the ship's computers are so advanced as to afford something along the lines of: "Tell me where you want to go and I'll take you there."

Um, actually, she does know "the first thing."

3. Open the wormhole, and gently push the ship into it.

Parts 1 and 2 require you to know where you are... and you do: Theta Persei B. Your original destination was Iota Persei, which is about 3.15 light years away. Driscoll can find Iota Persei with just the ship's scope, which he seems to have figured out, and the distance is in his handbook. So Samantha's task would be to figure out how, and how much, to charge the wormhole generator.

All you have to do in the Episode 4 thread is to declare that you intend to do that, and I'll roll the dice and see how it works out.

I'd still like to continue this, but I feel the pace has been pretty glacial so far; could we possibly "fast forward"?
