Let's open it up on the forecastle. That way if the dragon attacks, we can still steer the ship and escape in the lifeboat if we need to.

I would rather not arouse his suspicion by moving the chest around a lot. Why not open it here?

OOC: assuming the chest is on the main deck right now.

How do we open it, anyway?

Rostam studies the chest. Does it look easier to smash it or deal with the lock?

Maju will also try to closely inspect the chest, while being careful not to touch it.

The chest has already been man-handled with no visible effect. There's clearly some magic in place - you can tell that by the fact that the chest is still intact, and not rusted to pieces. However, it does have a lot of verdigris on it.

The lock could be pickable. You'd have to clean it up a bit first. Bashing the chest to bits would not be very hard at all.

It sounds like there are 3 or 4 objects inside - maybe bottles, or large pieces of jewlery, or small weapons. They sound metallic, or at least having a hard structure.

"Let me check it out ! Stay away, just in case..."

Jaali looks for traps on the chest.

After about ten minutes of scraping away verdigris, Jaali attempts to pock the lock and...

It's a 35 (a success). You have the chest open. (It's on the main deck I think).

From a quick peek, Jaali thinks there is:

A silver crown, untarnished.
A wand, made of silver and black metal.
A brass bottle, not corroded.

What do you all do? The dragon is still peering over the side.

Jaali takes the items one by one and shows them to the dragon. Does the dragon have a particular reaction to any of the items ?

Rostam frowned briefly when he saw the bronze bottle.

He now watches the dragon for any sign of hostile intent (as per detect evil) as Jaali presents the items.
