That seems to be as good as well get in terms of a party decision so -

6am, the ship follows the dragon westward and into an area where the reefs become a bit dangerous but the captain is capable of pursuing.

The dragon raises its head above a certain area and roars.

You can see a shipwreck down below, in about 80 feet of water. The ship looks like it was about the same size and type as your own - a dhow sea trader. There's coral and weed on it, so it's been down there a while.

The dragon smiles at you. It looks a little bit like it is expecting a doggy snack.

In answer to quozl - please refer to updated map in OOC.

It's the start of day 20 and you are in the position marked '20'. You can only go 8 hexes a day with this number of crew. The hexes aren't marked in the water but you can get a rough idea.

Thus, you are about 12 miles offshore but there's a huge shallow reef platform between you and shore.

The dragon is only about 40 yards away and you can see most of its body in the clear water above the reef. It is about 30 feet long and snakelike, but it does appear to have wings.

The wreck is beneath the dragon and visible from your ship, which has slowed.

Captain, let's get as close the reef as we can. I'd like to dive down there and take a look.

We're already as close as we dare get! You could swim from here?

The turtle-man cleric steps up. I could swim down there and take a look most easily.

(Keep going guys.)

Maju decides that he is of little help in the water. He decides to observe from the ship.

Sorry, I was really busy in the last weeks. I'm good now.

Jaali watches the dive, pistol in hand in case anything goes wrong.

Rostam addresses the dragon: Thank you for leading us here. Is there anything we can do for you?

OOC: Does the creature give any indication that it wants anything but food (which I believe we do not have)?

sunken treasure

The dragon can't speak, but seems most interested when the turtle-man Elias and the monk dive below and go down to the wreck.

The monk is capable of staying below for several minutes, which is easily enough time to get down 80 feet to the wreck and have a look. The Kappa can stay underwater for about twice that time.

The wreck is pretty badly degraded and at first it's not clear why the dragon wanted to show you this wreck until Elias seees a good old-fashioned treasure chest peeking out of a pile of debris...

The monk can't see much in detail. He's a good swimmer but seees underwater like any human would.

He can see all the hammerhead sharks swimming in for a look at you, though.
