You all want to priestess Maroo to cast remove curse, so, she does.

The results are somewhat spectacular. As the spell is completed, Maroo is flung back across the deck by the force of the magic in Jaali's tiny body and crashes into a barrel. A strange feeling comes over Jaali, and the paladin notices a black trace of evil leave his body and fly straight into the sea before he has a chance to react.

Jaali reports feeling better almost at once. He looks a bit weird, but he no longer feels like he is about to turn into a lizard.

What do you do? I'll assume you keep sailing west around the reefs but if you want to RP any more before you leave, do so now.

Maju immediately tends to Maroo to make sure she is okay.

Rostam hurries to help Maroo back on her feet.

Are you hurt?

Something went back into the sea, I could feel it.
Must have come from the crown after all.

Sorry, was away over weekend -

The priestess responds that no, her magic does not normally see her flung into walls. She's taken a few insignificant hp.

Sailing west around the reefs you'll be travelling another 8 hex areas today.

The day passes into afternoon as you round the island and see a huge swathe of coastline laid out before you. The desert ends and turns to grasslands. Shortly after that your eyes are attracted to a few pterodactyls circling and diving on something or someone on the rocky shoreline. They're still some miles away but Jaali, who by now feels entirely better, is pretty sure he can make out a craft of some kind up near the rocks on the shore.

This is pretty close to when you would have been anchoring for the night. Do you send a longboat over to investigate whatever the winged lizards are circling, or do you ignore it?

Maju is in favor of investigating.

Just to clarify, are these pterodactyls the small flying reptiles with about a 3 foot wingspan or are they bigger?

They're the size of large raptors, maybe 1HD, the monk fancies he could take out two in a melee round. So they're not a huge threat, except thereare a fair number (several dozen) dive-bombing something / someone on the shore.

The area has large cliffs and the waves surge against them. No chance of taking the ship in. You will have to go by longboat. A shame you don't have any flying familiars any more...

Rostam is also for investigating what the lizard-birds are doing and whether there is a boat.
After all, the party is looking for allies on the island.

OOC: how many people fit into the longboat?
