Re: Style guide

As far as non-breaking spaces go, don't worry about it. I'm fine fixing them in layout... global search and replace in LibreOffice is powerful enough to do it well.

Re: Style guide

How to word ability checks: I rewrite them about 75% of the time. Ability checks in adventures should follow the optional rule in the Core Rules, or use some form of saving throw, or something else actually found in the book. GMs who want another system can make it up and that's fine, but there's no...

Re: Resources

Reviewing the material, I see that was only part of the issue. One of the firm rules of BFRPG is to always use inclusive pronouns, complicated by our other rule that we use them in the traditional fashion. Thus, a lot of "he or she" in the book. As stated in that section in the Space Force...

Re: Two Book Release Announcement

I'd like to work on this with you. I feel like the "steam tunnel" side of the story is where I'd like to see the heroes come from, while the "bad guys" come from the "tract" side. The characters are virtually ready-made there.

... and he clarified. He found it boring. So I deleted his comment and warned him.

Honestly. If a post is boring to you, SCROLL ON. How hard is it not to be rude?

Naturally, considering the kind words, I rather liked the post... thanks!

A mod approved it (assuming you're talking about the sleepy emojis) but I questioned the commenter publicly there. Honestly not sure how to interpret the emojis; I've run into cultural differences before so I'm waiting for clarification from the commenter.

Re: Two Book Release Announcement

Not exactly "0 level." I'd play it just like in Lakeside, where their life experiences to date led to them having a class.

College students don't all have to be the same age; this is a difference from Lakeside where the PCs are all former classmates.

Re: Resources

Hah. Because the statement "this is old school" is read by too many people as being sexist. Even though I don't have that sort of text in BFRPG, we have discussed it among the production team and we have rather strict (but simple) rules for dealing with the issue. The short answer is, that...
