Younger people do. The earliest adopters of BFRPG were old guys, who knew how the game was supposed to work from direct experience.

Saga of the Giants is an homage, but not a clone, and this was by design as I understand it.

Also, most of what Smoot just said would have to be heavily redone since it violates all kind of Product Identity. That would be the other reason it hasn't been done.
