Re: My Illustrations
This reminds me of my favorite RPG art, the B&W art from Denis Loubet in the old Ultima computer game books, particularly the 'Book of Mystic Wisdom' from Ultima IV. I'd love to see more like this in BFRPG.

Re: DM decision help
I'd let them live or die, according to how your rules for unconsciousness work. But if you want to throw them a bone, some random ideas: Are they in the middle of nowhere, or somewhere near a road? If the latter, have a caravan be nearby (maybe the thief can see it traveling by from the dungeon entr...

Re: When a character dies
I've wondered about the same with regards to kids. I'm hoping my daughter will want to play some day and I don't want to set her up to expect things will always go her way, but, at the same time, I know kids will get more attached to PCs and I don't think I would allow a PC death until it seemed lik...

Re: Old book illustrations
A belated thanks for posting this. I thought the one below was especially dungeon fantasy appropriate.

Re: Solo campaigns?
I've always wanted to find a rainy day with nothing else to do (I wish!) and play through BSOLO - Ghost of Lion Castle. It's the one basic D&D module that I know of meant for solo play. Not exactly a campaign but might be a starting point with the least conversion necessary to BFRPG. That said, ...

Re: Stat arrays
We're planning to use a variant of 6 x 3d6 where you roll a 3d6, pick which stat to assign it to, roll another, etc. until you've filled every slot. Kind of a nice middle ground between 3d6 straight down and 3d6 arrange to taste, where you get a little mini-game of "do I want that 14 in str, or...

Re: Battle mats
If you do get a mat, I would recommend using dry erase and clearing it with a damp cloth, even if the mat is advertised as wet erase. In my experience, they'll accumulate some marker residue no matter what, but dry erase + damp wipe is your best path to a long life. My current group is using 36"...

Open Table BFRPG Barrowmaze game in Rochester, NH
Hi all - I'm hoping "Looking for players" threads are fine here; I couldn't find anything in the forum guidelines either way. If it's not, please wipe my thread out with no hard feelings ;) Another long time gamer in the coastal NH/ME area and I are running a biweekly game of Greg Gillespi...
