Re: Mapping the Road Ahead

I agree with keeping the current names, as they're a recognizable part of the BFRPG brand. Unless there is some change in editorial policy that would make an AA4/FG4 materially different from its predecessor, maintaining the continuity is valuable. I don't think a difference in license alone justifi...

Re: Dragon Age Categories

This is great -- and worthy of inclusion in the core rules Dragon section.

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 4th Edition

In my book (r132) which has 201 numbered pages, this table appears on p.167. In the matching PDF, it's p.171. BTW I never use the PDF page number. That's why I say "on page numbered XXX" rather than just "on page XXX". How weird. I was looking at the .odt version of r133 and jus...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 4th Edition

I think there's an error in the "Form of Item" table from the Treasure section (pg. 208).

In column D, the percentages for rows "Lens" through "Ring" read 01-17, 18-17, 18-50, 51-00.

Should this be: 01-17, 18-19, 20-50, 51-00 or 01-17, -, 18-50, 51-00?

Re: A Dark Awakening

It's an interesting scenario. But I think the requirement to trick/persuade Coldarius into handing over the potions puts too large of a role playing burden on the initial player, especially at an unfamiliar table. Since raising the party is a necessary precondition for the adventure, why leave it up...

Re: methods for increasing the pace

A few things like to do to keep things moving: 1. Always set some kind of time constraint for the overall mission, make it well-understood and create consequences around it. In your case, if the PCs continue to noodle around, you could introduce a NPC party that rescues the hostages, collects the re...

Re: Mysterious Island Contest -- Voting Thread

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read the adventure and voted for it. Lots of great material in this contest, and I will definitely be stealing some ideas to use in my own campaign!

Re: Mysterious Island Contest

Started reading the entries. I will be able to vote for only one of them but I also want to give feedback on every single one. Today I read The Prison of the Three Sisters by sean8223 and I have some thoughts: There is a time limit for the mission - this is great. Time limits are always good in adv...

Re: BFRPG Gift Set Challenge

The closest comparable here is the WOTC 5e starter set which gets you a set of dice, an abbrievated (but functional) rulebook and a pretty good introductory adventure with pregenerated characters for about $20. You could probably produce a BFRPG equivalent for that much or less if you're willing to ...

Re: Mysterious Island Contest

I made a colored version of the island map, for anyone who plays online (or just wants a colored version). The zip file contains the SVG source used to create the export.
