Re: Hit Dice as Attack Dice (easy-play group combat rules)
Thanks, Chris, I think I understand better now. You invited me to share my ideas with the forum, for which I am grateful. The issue of formal publication as a download was not the first thing on my mind but the Workshop seemed to be an appropriate place to share ideas. Please move this thread to Gen...

Re: Hit Dice as Attack Dice (easy-play group combat rules)
Thanks for reading. :) I was assuming that at Workshop pre-proof stage that the OGL was not required - and usually applied after formatting. Also I'm concerned that my initial notes, other explorations relating to these, refer to -as an intellectual exploration- Hit Dice in different editions of D&a...

Re: Warfare Rules
I really like this. It's straight forward and easy to follow. I especially like the shield wall idea.

Re: Warfare Rules
I've downloaded this and am looking forward to seeing how your system works. :) I can't promise a proper play test, since I don't have a group atm. I posted my own ideas on large groups in combat in the following thread but haven't had much feedback. https://www.basicfantasy.org/forums/viewtopic.php...

Re: Ability Modifier equation for Basic Fantasy
I was just about to say what Seven said (well, simpler, I guess). :) If there's a regular pattern in any table or matrix, there's usually a way to compress it into a formula or function. If the pattern doesn't quite fit then maybe some fudging is required. The beauty is creating really simple formul...

Re: Weapon Attributes
Apologies for posting TSR charts. Regarding Slash/Pierce/Bludgeon within approved OGL sources: Anyone interested in definitive lists of which weapons do which types of damage in can consult p65-66 d20 SRD-OGL_V5.1 PDF (5e) (Wizards SRD page) Weapons are listed with damage types, slashing, piercing, ...

Re: Weapon Attributes
I was just typing some more thoughts up, but I think LibraryLass's tables might be better. Here's a continuation of the Wpns vs AC concept. (No AD&D tables this time, sorry about that) -- Further random thoughts on specialising weapons against armour (please ignore if going totally off-topic!). ...

Re: Weapon Attributes
Coming to AD&D 2e very late, I was intrigued by the pierce, slash and blunt weapon classes vs. armour types table: ct9qatqd06yqjhysh.png I remember writing a 3 x 4 table of armour groups vs. slash, pierce, blunt weapons - but I can't find it at the moment. Although I haven't tested it, my prefer...

Re: Dragonlance/Krynn?
I don't know if you've seen it, a scan of TSR's Krynn Trail Map is currently free on DriveThruRPG (Wizards).
