Re: First Aid Mechanic (and more ideas to free clerics)
What about just allowing the Cleric to create scrolls at 1st level? It's a great way for your spellcasters to burn cash, and instead of having to spend your slots on healing spells, or changing the rules, you can just carry around scrolls. 250 × spell level × caster level for scroll creation. So...y...

Re: Very sorry
What exactly do you mean by "D&D Starter Set"? Please tell me it wasn't this: http://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Roleplaying-Starter-Introductory/dp/0786948205 or this http://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Fantasy-Roleplaying-Game/dp/0786956291/ref=pd_sim_b_3 Those are 4E products...

Re: Dragonlance
Of the DL modules, DL1 is the best. Get it and run it as a one-shot. If your players really like it, make it into something you like. Dragonlance is/was meh...until you reach Taladas. That was, in my opinion, the Greyhawk of 2E. Gnomes (Gnomoi) weren't stupid, they are downright cool in Taladas. Wit...

Re: Why does Sleep have a Saving Throw?
Oh, most certainly. I could just run it identical to how Moldvay wrote it. Not a problem. I was just curious, that's all. It took me by surprise when the DM started calling for Saving Throws for a sleep spell. There's a discussion about it going on over on Dragonsfoot in the Classic forum. Different...

Re: Why does Sleep have a Saving Throw?
I see. He basically made it the same as the D&D 3.x Sleep spell, probably a conscious decision to better adhere to the OGL. After some emails with him earlier this month, I can completely understand why he would follow that line. The reason it came up is because I am playing in a BFRPG game and ...

Re: Why does Sleep have a Saving Throw?
Moldvay Basic doesn't allow a Save. Nor does Holmes, Mentzer, OD&D, AD&D, or 2E AD&D.
Unless I am reading my Moldvay wrong .

Re: Curse of the Lost Spells
There's a HEALER class in Dragon Magazine #3. It was designed for OD&D, and seems as though it would be a bit overpowered in BFRPG, but one could adapt it.
