Re: Overland Travel Movement Rates

I'm assuming you're using a map with a one mile square grid. Assume your players have 24 movement points. Plain squares cost 2 points to cross, (12 miles per day) Forest squares cost 3 points (8 miles per day), Mountain squares cost 6 points (4 miles per day). This should work assuming there aren't ...

Re: Questions regarding identifying and selling magic items

For setting magic item prices there is a supplement in the showcase called The Magic Shoppe. It gives good guidelines about determining worth of an item with the assumption that the goods will not be sold for cash, but may be used to barter/trade for favors, ransoms, or other items. As for identifyi...

Re: Magic-User Cantrips

I generally like your new cantrips, but they do seem a little strong. At one point I modified and added a few cantrips to my house rule set, but they seem to have been lost to time (or at least until I get back to my desktop in the states). I do remember a few things though. First I made it so all n...

I noticed that depending on the rotation of the phone's screen, verticle or horizontal, the layout changes.

Vertical does not have the return button but if the phone is rotated to horizontal it does.
Ah-ha! That does change it!

Apple App-Less Dice Roller

I made a quirky little die roller using Apple Shortcuts, on my phone. You can check it out here: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/efb09b3cea9448f8be2c2a2e842115c3 When you run this shortcut it will prompt you to enter a die formula. Formulas must be in the form "X,Y,Z" which is equivalent to XdY+Z. ...

Re: Forums on mobile devices

Would the theme apply to all devices I use? I use both my computer, and my phone to read stuff, so ideally it would only apply when I use my phone. Otherwise, I can switch between them as I need it, but I'll probably just keep the default layout.

Forums on mobile devices

Something I noticed a while back, but never got around to bringing up: When I view a thread on my laptop at the bottom of the page above "Who's Online?" there is a little button that says "Return to '[Board Name].'" When I view a thread on my phone, this little button is not there. I'm not sure if i...

Small Party Adventure Modules

With the exception of a short lived home brew campaign I don't think I've run a game for more than 3 people in Years . My group of prospective players is rather large, but with constantly changing schedules, inconveniently large distances, transportation issues, and unreliable internet connections, ...

Re: Basic Scifi Role-Playing Game

I know you want this to be uniquely Basic, and I’m sure anything you do will have your own flair, but I’d like to recommend some inspirational reading. You got me seriously excited, about this, and I hope these help with your block. Labyrinth Lord’s creators made “Ape’s Victorious,” and “Mutant Futu...

Re: BFRPG v.s. Well, all the rest

I would say the answer is “yes, he has previous experience.” BRRPG and modern games differ in many details and minor variations, but the basic framework of - GM describes a scene - Players state their actions - GM decides and describes results - repeat is no different. There might be some culture sh...
