Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules

Damage, Subduing damage, Brawling and Wrestling pages 48 and 49 Ok, no verbatim text from srd. Some similarity in first sentence and first paragraph under Wrestling/Multiple Opponents, may be worth a rephrase to make extra sure? The srd text says: Several combatants can be in a single grapple. Up t...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules

Magical Research pages 154-156 OK, no verbatim in the SRD PS: I know Chris said there's no reviewing/rewriting rules but the gap between the cost of scrolls and Potions may be worth some kind of revision in the future. I remember some people have already pointed it out. Like Potions look very cheap...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules

OK, so I took the liberty to review
  • Optional Rules
  • Death and Dying
  • "Save or Die" Poison
  • Awarding experience Points for Treasure Gained
  • Ability Rolls
  • Preparing Spells from Memory
  • Thief Abilities
pages 152-153

Either not in the srd or no verbatim text

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules

Regarding Dragons: I'd go with randomizing their appareance and breath weapon, TSR already did Gemstone dragons or drakes.

Re: The new OGL and BFRPG

Drivethru could be onboard with wotc's decision not just because they are stupid.
Possible reasons include:

1. They expect most people to buy into OGL 1.1

2. The amount of money they are going to lose because of people refusing OGL1.1 is considered risible.

Re: A Manifesto of Sorts, which is a Plan as well

Hello! I wholeheartedly support the switch to CC. There is something I was thinking of about the language/glossary. While Strength, Dexterity, Fighter, Level are maybe generic enough not to warrant a change, I'm not so sure about Armor Class, Saving Throw, Hit Dice, Hit Points. On the other hand, I ...

Re: I Find Dungeon Exploration Movement Rates To Be A Tad Silly.

I found this to be a non-problem for me. The game has been laid out to work in big easy chunks, I find it is a simple and useful abstraction. Like spell slots and levels and hit dice. I think nitpicking over minutes of time and feet of movement for the sake of realism is not worth the effort. To me ...

Re: Two questions about fighters in IF

Probably both things (Paladins as a human class only and Multiple attacks for Fighters) were introduced with AD&D 1e, so they are outside the scope Solomoriah set for the project
