Re: Goblin's in Sunlight

That's a good way of looking at it. I like how BFRPG leaves rules open to house ruling and modules. As you mentioned, sometimes I like to look up monsters in the encyclopedia too, for their original descriptions.

Group Initiative Supplement

I like how BFRPG is modular. I arranged a simple Group Initiative supplement more in line with original B/X rules and other retro-clones. Any comments?

Goblin's in Sunlight

I noticed in BFRPG goblin's don't get the -1 to-hit penalty in sunlight they do in the original rules. I figure this is due to not wanting to have too many little extra rules, unless there is another reason, or it's a missed detail? Just wondering.

BFRPG Initiative Options?

Hi All: Are there any semi-official supplements for one-time (non-staggered) individual initiative for BFRPG or B/X D&D (as opposed to group init and/or rolling each round)? I've been running B/X modules with friends, and while we play classic style, they are used to one-time individual initiati...

Re: Polearm vs Two-Handed Sword

Thank you for the replies. I agree with what you are saying, that the weapon should suit the character/class. I really like BFRPG and would like to join a PBP game in the near future. Thanks again.

Re: Polearm vs Two-Handed Sword

Thank you for your reply. You and I understand the value of role playing over "game balance"; still this one seems like a tough sell to players who are astute readers of the rules and used to more balance, when making a character on their own with starting wealth. Especially since the pole...

Polearm vs Two-Handed Sword

Hello: I'm new to "B/X" D&D. I noticed that in BFRPG and Labyrinth Lord, the Polearm does the same damage as a Two-Handed Sword, but for less cost. The weight difference is negligible. Is there a reason for that? Does the two-handed sword have an advantage over the polearm? Was this th...
