Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide Volume 2
One could say that a morale score of 12 means the creature has absolute control over its bravery/courage/perseverance... meaning no need for any random determination. Bear in mind, I am not saying such a creature (with 12 morale) would never retreat/run/etc.... but just that determination is no long...

Re: Improvisation and favorite moments
Your description of enjoying vivid improvisations and the players reveling in inspired reactions and unexpected outcomes aligns with what many roleplayers find engaging about the hobby. I'm sure other tabletop enthusiasts would love to share their favorite moments This post seems suspect as possibl...

Re: Slaad-like creatures?
You won't find them in BFRPG directly as you surmised. Nor Gith/Zerth or other protected creatures.
If just for you and your own home use?
If so, then just import as you see fit. No police gonna show up to your game, eh?

Re: Barkling race?
A percent chance, but NOT scaled for level as that's not done with any of the standard races. Or a 1-n on d6 if you like. Dex as a minimum would be okay, but honestly I'm not sure they need one. BUT, they should have a max Str of 17. Con would be a good alternative for a minimum score, if you feel ...

Re: Barkling race?
They didn't. The look had to be changed as the mini-lizard man appearance is a D&D creation, so we went back a few steps to miniature dog people as Kobolds (after a LOT of suggestions based more on the original mythological creatures) When Solo decided to keep the Kobolds as they were there was...

Re: Barkling race?
Barklings were originally designed as a BFRPG redesign of Kobolds (during the period when WotC was trying to grab back all IP that was under the previous license). I suppose Caneins could function as a base instead, depending on one's views. However, since I am the author of Caneins, and the individ...

Re: Field Guide Omnibus
Personally, I would think the entries should be removed. An individual could come back here years from now and say "I never agreed to this"; "you violated my original work, even if you rewrote the sentences, the concept is still mine". That is unless we get a new 'release'... whi...

Re: Field Guide Omnibus
Porcupine Bear should be removed from the list. That entry got folded into the Quill Bear entry because the two contributions were similar in theme.
