Welcome to the Borderlands

(Party time)
Your party has journeyed for many days from the comforting confines of Dolmvay to the wild and rugged borderlands. The dangerous realm separating the wilderness from the more civilized southern lands. Here bandits, goblins, ruks, giants, and creatures more foul hold sway and you are an intruder upon their domain.
You have been sent to ascertain the whereabouts of Clyne Elffrin, the local Adventurers Guild representative. Having met your guide several miles ago you now find yourselves upon a small hillock looking down on the town of Trolls Crossing. A single road, the very one you followed in fact, runs through the town before winding its way north into the dark and foreboding woods. You know the road eventually goes all the way to the mountains where the ancient delves of the dwarves are located. The road is a major trade highway, making it and the area around the town a hotspot for banditry and ruk activity. Any number of threats could have killed Elffrin in this savage land.
Descending from the hill you travel the short distance before at last arriving at the gate. A group of soldiers stand guard and ask you your business.
Who is your groups leader?
Why are you here?
Where are you staying?
They also let you know about a few of the towns laws.
1. No weapons are allowed to be unsheathed while in town except in self defense. If you do so you will be fined 50gp
2. Anyone caught outside the town gate after dark will NOT under any circumstance be allowed entrance.
3. Should you be caught stealing you will lose a finger. If you are caught again you will lose a hand.
4. Should you caught committing the act of murder in town without justification, you will be hanged.
5. you are found to be a bandit or consort with such folk, you will be hanged.
6. Should you perform unlawful acts of sorcery, you will be hanged.
7. Should you be caught performing human sacrifice, you will be hanged.
8. If you are caught drunk after midnight you will be fined 5gp.
Welcome to Trolls Crossing. Enjoy your stay.
