The Basic Fantasy Field Guide, Release 32 -- May 15, 2019: James Lemon has provided this revised copy of the original Field Guide. It's not ready to print yet, as we still have to finish the monster index in the back.

Note that we're leaning to having the Monster Index remain a separate document, hopefully coming to a Downloads page near you soon.

Chi, I'm working on FG1 right now, so don't start any revisions. I'll apply Dimirag's changes as I go.

... okay, uploading R33 now. I think I got all of Dimirag's suggestions taken care of, and I've hammered on the layout too. A few pieces of art got smaller, but more artwork got bigger, and I think the layout is darn near print-ready.

OH... and I discovered that an important bit of the general Nazgorean descriptive text was MISSING. So I put it in. It's a new version of what I originally wrote for Lost Pyramid.

I see the new text (new to me anyhow, noted that you had this in your adventure material) about magic for Nazgoreans. This complicates or at least means some new explanation might be needed for the FG2 entry for Nazgorean, Nehnite. It is noted as "different" but might need something extra to clarify.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

That's a flow error. Dang. Thought I got all of them.

Good catches.

No, this is correct as is. The revised version makes it sound as if there is just one Prince Frog; in fact, this is the name of the species.

Steel Spider -> Spider, Steel
Terror Bird -> Bird, Terror
Violet Fungus -> Fungus, Violet
All of these are correct as is. Obsessively breaking every type of monster down by category is unnecessary, and makes the book overly formal and a bit harder to use.
Dimirag wrote: Sun May 19, 2019 10:59 am Rabbit Prince -> Should be Prince Rabbit? -> changed into Rabbit, Prince
No, this is also correct as is. This actually is a singular creature, properly called the Rabbit Prince.

I've applied your revisions as indicated to my R34; I'm assuming Chi hasn't started on it yet, so I'll probably upload the new one today.

I think some may be necessary as to keep the monsters order more streamline this being the cases of the spiders, fungus and bird, the book already have some "spider, x" entries, but the phase and steel spiders are out of sinc. and the book contains more than one kind of fungus and bird, why not group them together?

Categories having only one member in the book really don't need to be grouped together. I'll think about the spiders though... they may properly belong together.
