Last night was my first time GM-ing BFRPG for a couple friends and my 11 year old son, and I started with "Call of Doom". I just wanted to say we all had a great time, and to thank you for putting together this material.

If the adventure had typographical errors, I didn't notice. In terms of play, I found some of the encounters a bit overpowered. It all would have gone smoother if their level 1 cleric actually succeeded in turning undead, but since that wasn't the case the party had to survive by using their noggins and lots of retreating. As my son learned, walking into a room full of corpses and poking the first dead body you find is usually not a good idea.

The funny thing is, he had been playing some D&D 5th edition, and I thought he'd never be open to an OSR ruleset. On the contrary, we're both converted to BFRPG. (Now where do I get a refund for all the $$$ I spent on 5e tomes???)

Anyhoo, thanks again for creating stellar material, and I look forward to playing (and maybe even contributing) more.

Thanks,
Kyle AKA "Bumblepig"
This is a great testament to BFRPG and how it is helping keep the old school alive!

I always start with third level characters. There is a document with pregens in the showcase.

Also, the author is quite handsome.

About a third of the way through; a lot of little corrections. Once finished I'll email r19 to Solo.

When printed out, that's when I really noticed the 2nd-floor map is quite a bit larger than the 1st-floor. I think the former should be scaled down a bit (doesn't have to be as small as the 1st-floor if it wasn't rotated, but at least 50% of the way).

Announcing!

CS1 Castle by the Sea, Release 19 -- August 12, 2019
James Lemon has made an editing pass, and this new print release is the result. He reports a few minor changes, so if this version stands without further errors for a week, CS1 will go to print!

Thanks, I think that is a couple years old at this point. Hopefully moving forward with the artwork.

Thanks for the chance to showcase it.
