Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 3
Do you need an illustration for the tigersquid, or do you have one already?

For your consideration...

Hatchettes are large, flightless birds characterized by an axe-like beak. They stand up to 8 feet tall and their feathers range from light tan to near black. Over the eons, they have adapted to live in a variety of climates.
Hatchettes are quite agressive and will attack anyone who comes too close. In combat, they swing their heads, using the razor-sharp edge of their beaks like an axe. Also, they will pounce on their prey and attack with their claws. Hatchettes have a particular fondness for halfling flesh, and will generally attack them first.
Some species have domesticated hatchettes and ride them into battle. In those instances, hatchettes may only attack with their beaks. Their riders may attack as normal.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 3
I can honestly say this is the first tigersquid I've ever drawn. Maybe that ANYONE has ever drawn. Reminded me a lot of the demogorgon's from Stranger Things.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 3
Um... dang. I should have made a point to integrate all the other Nazgorean information. Like other monsters from Nazgor, tigersquids have slimy gray skin.
Otherwise, it's GREAT! Leading me to wonder, maybe I should vary from my normal description for them... maybe they are somehow different. Hmm...

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 3
Here's a different version, tried to go for the gray, slimy look. Tried to smooth out most of the fur as best I could.
Hope this one works:

Great artwork again Teaman!!!!!!
Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 3
Thanks Al! Hoping the second version is more what Solo was thinking of.
And thanks for all your edits on the Dark Temple. Can't wait to see the final version.
And have a great Sunday. I'm off to draw a Vultureman this afternoon. Want something like the Skesis but not the Skesis.
