I don't really use the illusionist that much.
The default list of commons spells should probably be smaller than the Magic User's list, which is 12.
So, 10 sounds about right to me.
It's like going for the theater release of a movie rather than the director's cut.

There's no reason to limit the default list of spells to less than the standard magic-user, and I expressly do not want it done that way.

The only reason is that it's harder to come up with illusions that any MU spell.

So, 12-12-12-10-10-10 then?

It is currently 10-10-6-6-6-6. Which is awful. I am asking for 12-12-8-8-8-8. I can get that done easily.

For comparison, the Necromancer is at 13-10-8-8-6-6. I would like to change it to be 12-12-8-8-8-8. The Magic-User in the core rulebook is 12-12-12-12-10-10. So, I can't go above what the Magic-User has.

I know that 12-12-8-8-8-8 is easily doable for both the Illusionist and Necromancer. I actually have the additional all ready to suggest for both. I can make 12-12-10-10-10-10 work, or even the full 12-12-12-12-10-10, though I might have to just give them a Magic-User spell to fill a gap or two with either of those. Any are fine by me; I already have 12-12-8-8-8-8 done. I just need to know what the target is.

And, while I am at it, again the Necromancer Supplement has a Magic Item page with some cool goodies. Can I add such to the Illusionist Supplement? I honestly have no idea what I'll put in it, but I promise I will have at least a half-dozen fun items if it is OK to add it.

Could use a mage style necromancer staff or two.
Maybe like a Staff of the Dead with a skull on top and several necromancer spells (like a staff of power basically) and a retributive strike that drains level.

Hold off on adding magic items to the Illusionist Supplement. I'm not aware of any compelling items. But if you think of other necromantic items, that's fine to add there... magic items, being given by the GM, are always okay.

So, is it OK if I go for a 12-12-12-12-10-10 spell distribution? That will let them match the Magic-User in number of spells available.

It sounds like it would be perfect.
