Necromancer Supplement
Re: Necromancer Supplement
A creature killed by Energy Drain usually rise as a creature of the same type as the killer, after a day or so. I'm thinking of adding a fast zombie type to FG3 for victim of Energy Drain spell, which I guess is Enervation. I think I'll call it a husk and make it HD 3.
Is that OK?

Re: Necromancer Supplement
I think all these games/editions are missing out on the concept of fast zombies (more modern sort of zombie idea), so yes, I would say they could be really fun.
Another similar idea would be that of a "plague zombie"... extremely virulent spread of zombies in the vein of Walking Dead. They can be either slow (normal) or fast zombie sorts.

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Is the skull image used in the document a "public domain" image, or was it created by someone here? Just want to know if I can reuse it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Necromancer Supplement
I made a point of choosing public domain art (very old, usually wood block-type prints because they had the most similarities to old-school rpg b&w images).

r10 in Projects. Lots of little edits. Also added Dimirag's illustration.
One question/issue remains, in the Maggot Spray entry: which save category/type?

Re: Necromancer Supplement
Hmm, seems to be an oversight. It is a spell, however given its nature seems more a breath weapon as well. Perhaps others have insight, but if up to me I would probably go with the less used Breath Weapon (Dragon Breath) save....
My rationale is that other than it is produced by magic initially, it is largely the effects of the maggots eating into the victim's flesh and actual "stench". For instance, if one summoned a "dagger" (magically summoned), but then sequentially uses the dagger to damage something... that damage is not really magical at that point, eh?

Re: Necromancer Supplement
Maybe it uses an attack roll instead of a saving throw? As the caster "aims" the stream at the victim.

Re: Necromancer Supplement
Area effects shouldn't have attack rolls, generally.
Dragon Breath does seem appropriate.
