Core Rules Suggestions

Page 5 (1) – What is a Role-Playing Game? – Paragraph 1
Time marches on, the game that Basic Fantasy Role Playing Game was originally based on came out in 1977, 46 years ago this year (2023). The first RPG as mentioned came out in 1974, which is 49 years ago.
Currently: In the more than 30 years since the first role-playing game appeared, much has changed.
Suggest: In the almost 50 years since the first role-playing game appeared, much has changed.

Page 9 (5) – Dwarves – Special Abilities
Mentions that Dwarves can find traps, but elsewhere (Page 42) it is limited to stone work traps. Should that be mentioned here that the trap finding is limited to stone works.

Page 13 (9) – Climb Walls – Mention falling but not results.
May want to include a mention of the Falling Damage section to determine the damage received.

Page 16 (12) – Explanation of Equipment – Backpack paragraphs
Both Standard and Halfling Backpacks are mentioned, should the Equipment list on page 14 (10) include both?
Suggest changing the entry to Backpack (Standard and Halfling)

Page 24 (20) – Conjure Elemental – Types of Elementals summoned.
The spell lists Air, Earth, Fire, Water elementals, would this include Djinni, Efreeti, Flame Salamanders, or Frost Salamanders which are from the planes of Air, Fire, or Water? Should the newly-included Elementals of Cold, Lightning, Metal, and Wood be included?

Page 28 (24) – Fly – Paragraph 2
The last paragraph indicates that if the spell is dispelled the flying charcter falls. Should this include a blurb about the character receiving falling damage. It is mentioned in the second sentence but in the case of the spell duration running out.

Page 30 (26) – Invisibility – Missing Sentence
The first sentence just says, “ becomes invisible.” The words from the original were from the SRD. Thinking it was just missed.

Page 30 (26) – Lightning Bolt – Flesh Golems
Should the special healing for the Flesh Golems be mentioned here?

Page 38 (34) – Sleep – 4 HD opponents
The spell says that it affects 3HD or less and is not effective on 5 HD creatures. The orignal 3rd edition had it that 4HD and above are not affected.

Page 45 (41) – Time and Scale – Full width
The Time and Scale section is full page width, thinking it should be in column format to be consistent with rest of text in the book.

Page 49 (45) – Alchemist – Paragraph 2 and 3
Both paragraphs mention the time and cost of a Magic-User, but there is no entry for Magic-User in the NPC Specialist section. The time and costs are mentioned in the Magic Research section. Suggest mentioning the Magical Research section in one of these paragraphs.

Page 50 (46) – Mercenaries – Table
The cost doesn’t indicate the denomination of money to use may want to have gp after each cost.

Page 58 (54) and Page 59 (55) – Oil and Holy Water – Possibly move
Could these sections be moved up to be under the Grenade Like Weapons section so the Grenade like information is all together?

Page 58 (54) – Clerics vs. Undead Table – Monster examples
To avoid confusion should the 3 HD example be changed to Wight and the 4 HD changed to Wraith; Change the 5 HD to Mummy (the current HD listed for that creature), 6 HD to Spectre (the current HD listed for that creature); Vampires are listed as having 7 – 9 HD and Ghosts are listed as 10 HD. This would make the examples coincide better with the listed undead creatures. Then in the Turning the Undead section currently on page 59 (55) just mention using the Hit Dice instead of the given monster.

Page 59 (55) – Turning the Undead – Possible Move
Could this section be moved to the same page as the Clerics vs. Undead Table?

Page 59 (55) – Turning the Undead – Possible change
I know the player facing rules are not supposed to be changed, but one question that seems to pop-up a lot is “How many times can a Cleric use Turn Undead in a given day?” Could there be something here or in the optional rules section that would tie the number of uses to the level of the Cleric?

Page 61 (57) – Deafness and Blindness – Paragraph 3
Should it be made clear, “Do Blindness and Invisibility penalties stack?”

Page 64 (60) – Monsters – Paragraph 8 (Marked as Attacks)
Should this paragraph also give an example of a creature that has an ‘or’ attack. Like this:
A Triceratops has an attack of 1 gore or 1 trample this means that the creature can do a gore attack or a trample attack, but not both in the same round.

Page 64 (60) – Monsters – Paragraph 13 (Marked as Morale)
Should there be mention to use the Morale section in the Encounters chapter?

Page 65 (61) to Page 149 (145) – Monsters – The use of special attacks.
One of the things that I don’t like about the monster listings is the use of ‘special’ in attack and damage. I think that the attack types should be listed since it would be so easy to just glaze over the special attacks.

Page 66 (62) – Assassin Vine – Remove
Since the Assassin Vine was deemed someone else’s idea (GG and DA according to Boggo) we should probably remove all mention of it and leave it as the current Strangle Vine. (Edit: since there have been changes in the use of the OGL and SRD this maybe a mote point now. Those changes happened as I was editing this book)

Page 67 (63) – Basilisk – Paragraph 2
Awkward wording.
Currently: Any living creature which meets the gaze of the basilisk must save vs. Petrification or be turned to stone instantly.
Suggest: Any living creature meeting the gaze of a basilisk must save vs. Petrification or be turned to stone instantly.

Page 68 (64) – Bear, Cave – Awkward wording
Description makes it seem the bear is 6 ft tall when standing on 2 legs.
Currently: These monstrous bears are even larger than brown bears weighing up to 1,800 pounds and standing up to six feet high at the shoulder.
Suggest: These monstrous bears are even larger than brown bears weighing up to 1,800 pounds and six feet high at the shoulder when on all-fours.

Page 68 (64) – Bear, Grizzly (or Brown) – Awkward wording
Description makes it seem the bear is 4 ft tall when standing on 2 legs.
Currently: An adult male weighs 400 to 800 pounds and stands four feet high at the shoulder; …
Suggest: An adult male weighs 400 to 800 pounds and four feet high at the shoulder when on all-fours; …

Page 68 (64) – Bee, Giant – Paragraph 1
Add clarification to queen value
Should it be noted that the queen bee needs to be alive and not just defeated. It would be pretty useless if the queen was dead.

Page 69 (65) – Beetle, Giant Bombardier – Stat block
Attacks and Damage remove special and put an actual attack
Suggest:
No. of Attacks: 1 bite + 1 spray
Damage: 1d6 bite + 2d6 spray

Page 74 (70) – Cockatrice – Stat block
Attacks and Damage remove special and put an actual attack
Suggest:
No. of Attacks: 1 beak + touch
Damage: 1d6 bite + petrification touch

Page 74 (70) – Crocodile – Large and Giant versions
Using the same descriptor for both Large and Giant versions.
Currently: These huge creatures …
Suggest (Large): These huge creatures …
Suggest (Giant): These gigantic creatures …

Page 75 (71) – Dinosaur, Deinonychus – Duplicate creature
Deinonychus is in both the Core Rules and FG1, the descriptions and stat blocks are different. Can we have an early ruling on which to actually use? Already posted 1/27/2023

Page 76 (72) – Dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex – Stat block
Save As level is half of Hit Dice should it be increased?
Currently:
Hit Dice: 18 (+12)
Save As: Fighter 9

Page 77 (73) – Djinni – Stat block
Save As level is almost double of Hit Dice should it be decreased?
Currently:
Hit Dice: 7+1**
Save As: Fighter 12

Pages 80 (76) – Page 85 (81) – Dragons (All plus Turtle) – Stat Blocks
I would like to expand the stat blocks to be about the same as the Remorhaz from the FG1 to include the range of HD, and XP, (maybe put the XP in the Age category tables), should damage and treasure types have a modifier (i.e. *1/10 for lowest HD and *2 for highest HD). Suggest a range of 1/10, ½, ¼, *1 for average, * 1.25, *1.5 and *2).

Pages 80 (76) – Page 85 (81) – Dragons (All plus Turtle) – Age Tables
Would like to see width better reflect line size. For Desert Dragons and Swamp Dragons since they use line Breath Weapon (BW) the width should be ‘5 for the second to fifth ages. Since they can start using Cloud or Cone BW at sixth age and all three BW at seventh age those should be the wider numbers but may need to explain that the wider numbers are for the cloud and cone versions and that the line is still 5’. May want to add an explination that the number in parentheses is for the other breath weapon option available to the dragon at that age. I think it would look like this:
Width | - | 5’ | 5’ | 5’ | 5’ | 5’ (55’) | 5’ (60’) |

Page 80 (76) – Cloud Dragon – Paragraph 4
Could the dragon also be able to transform into Elf or Dwarf to? Since the other humanoids are longer lived a Cloud Dragon would be able to see them more often and then be able to use them as transform type.

Page 101 (97) – Giant, Storm – Description
Since storm giants are able to throw lightning bolts, should they also be immune to all electrical attacks? No immunity is listed for them.

Page 105 (101) – Golem, Bone – Stat Block
The No of Attacks shows 4 weapons but damage gives 1d6/1d6/1d6/1d6 or by weapon. Does the 1d6s indicate claw attacks if there are not 4 weapons available? If so then the damage should be changed to 1d6 claw, weapon damage. Also should the mention of 2 two-handed in the second paragraph indicate to use the two-handed weapon damage of a weapon?

Page 105 (101) – Golem, Bronze – Stat Block
The Save As is Fighter 10, but the Hit Dice is at 20 should the Save As be increased to match the Hit Dice level? This is similar to all the golems having Save As about half of Hit Dice.

Page 112 (108) – Hydra – Description
Does the Hydra have the ability to regenerate severed heads gaining two heads for the one lost. Starting two rounds after the injury and taking four rounds for the heads to replace the damaged head. Also restoring hit points up to 8 for each head gained, this would not go above the next Hit Dice level of the Hydra. To stop the regeneration the attacker needs to do a successful attack with either a lit torch or a flaming weapon or a fireball or similar spell.

Page 115 (111) – Jelly, Glass – Name
There are two instances where the name is changed to Transparent jellies, should this be noted as an additional name in the first sentence or should ‘Transparent’ be changed to ‘Glass’?

Page 128 (124) – Purple Worm – image
The image on the page extends into the bottom margin of the page.

Page 128 (124) – Purple Worm – description
With the wide range of HD should the bite and sting damage and size be altered to?

Page 129 (125) – Rat, Giant – Stat block
Should the HD of the giant rat be changed to ½ (1d4 hit points) to match other small creatures.

Page 133 (129) – Shadow and Shark – images
The images of the shadow and shark extend into the bottom margin of the page.

Page 134 (130) – Shrew, Giant – Stat block
Should the HD be listed as 1 (1*) since the venomous version is described as having1* HD? This would also change the XP.

Page 134 (130) – Skeleton – Stat block
Should the AC include ‘(half damage from edged weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’ to match the Skeleton entries in the Adventure Anthologies and other books.

Page 135 (131) – Snake, Pit Viper – Paragraph 4
Since paragraph 4 is a description of rattlesnakes, should it be in the Snake, Giant Rattlesnake entry?

Page 136 (132) – Spectre – Name
Should this creature’s name be changed to the American spelling Specter? Would need to be changed throughout the book.

Page 145 (141) – Wailing Morel – Description
Should the sentence that mentions that a roll on a Wandering Monster Table be above the image instead of below?

Page 148 (144) – Yellow Mold – Description
Should Yellow Mold actually be listed as Mold, Yellow or put into the Jellies section?

Page 148 (144) – Zombie - Description
Should the AC include ‘(half damage from blunt weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’ to match the Zombie entries in the other adventure books.

Page 149 (145) – Zombraire (and Skeletaire) – Stat block
For the Zombraire should AC include ‘(half damage from blunt weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’ and for the Skeletaire should the AC include ‘(half damage from edged weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’

Page 151 (147) – Adjusting Treasure Awards – Orphaned text
There are two lines of text on this page basically under the image of the backpack on Page 150 (146).

Page 152 (148) – All tables – d%
In all the tables d% is shown as d tilde ‘d~’ taking the bold off the character changes it back to d percentile ‘d%’. There are 5 columns with the ‘d~’ showing on this page.

Page 152 (148) – Gem Table – Names
I couldn’t find a ‘real’ Phenalope it is mentioned as being a gem in Forgotten Realms. There is an actual gem with the same coloration called a ‘Rhodonite’. Pointing this out since we still want to remove the name since the FR products still belong to another publishing company we all know.

Also the real name of Bloodstone is Heliotrope. The real name of Greenstone is Chlorastrolite. The other names in the gem list are standard gem names.

Page 179 (175) – Other Single-Use Items – Paragraph 3
Suggest including the employment of an alchemist specialist [Page 49 (45)] adding to the success of the potion creation. Maybe add a reference like: Hiring an alchemist for the duration of potion creation will add to the chance of success for the potion.

Page 179 (175) – Enchanting Weapons – Suggestion
Would an Armorer or Weaponsmith add to the chance of armor or weapon being enchanted? Currently there wasn’t anything listed in the Armorer or Weaponsmith Specialist section.

Page 182 (178) – Stock the Dungeon – d%
In the table d% is shown as d tilde ‘d~’ taking the bold off the character changes it back to d percentile ‘d%’. There is 1 column with the ‘d~’ showing on this page.

Core Rules Changes made by AlMan

Page 5 (1) to Page 8 (4) - Text
There were several sections that had the font set to Soutane 10 point, changed to Soutane 9.5 point and that tightened up the flow.

Page 5 (1) – Introduction – Punctuation
In the first three paragraphs suggest putting a comma between the names of the characters and the class, and another after the class.

Changed to: … Apoqulis, the Cleric, …

Paragraph 2
Was: … Barthal the Thief …

Was: When a character is injured, they loses hit points from their current total.
Changed to: When a character is injured, they lose hit points from their current total.

Page 10 (6) – The image of the Halfling was not anchored to the text but was anchored to the page it was on. Moved the image to where it belongs and anchored it to the paragraph. Was then able to remove several blank lines that were used to make room for the image. Used the same anchor settings as the Human image on the same page.

Page 12 (8) – Thief – Paragraph 4 Sentence 2
Even though it is the ‘singular’ they the verb still needs to agree. … they sees vs. they see

Page 13 (9) – Move Silently Paragraph – Sentence 2
Even though it is the ‘singular’ they the verb still needs to agree. … they is vs. they are. The second half of the sentence is very awkward.
Was: The Thief will usually believe they is moving silently regardless of the die roll, but those they is trying to avoid will hear the Thief if the roll is failed.

Changed to: The caster can remain transformed up to one hour per level of ability, or may choose to end the spell whenever they desire (up to one hour per level, of course).

Page 42 (38) – Ventriloquism – First Sentence
Awkward wording – made sure that the wording change didn’t take the wording back to the SRD version.
Was: This spell causes the caster's voice to appear to come from other some location within range, for example, from a dark alcove or statue.
Changed to: This spell causes the caster's voice to appear to come from another location within range, for example, from a dark alcove or statue.

Page 42 (38) – Wall of Fire – Paragraph 1
Awkward wording – made sure that the wording change didn’t take the wording back to the SRD version.
Was: This spell creates a vertical sheet of flames in an area indicated by the caster, which is either a wall of flame up to 20' in length per caster level, or a ring with a radius up to 5' per caster level.
Changed to: This spell creates a vertical sheet of flames in an area indicated by the caster, which is either a sheet of flame up to 20' in length per caster level, or a ring with a radius up to 5' per caster level.

OH I didn't know if it was an error (since spellcheck on the forums didn't flag it), I honestly didn't know I'd never seen it spelled like that before (now I have to go google the spelling :D

R108 Final Task List

Post by Solomoriah »

This is my list of tasks which I need to address before releasing Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 4th Edition R108 to the public. I've locked it to prevent comments; however, production team members who are aware of something I've left off this list are welcome to post a comment to remind me. Others should post such comments in the Core Rules thread here:

Al Vetter's Notes

Page 5 (1) – What is a Role-Playing Game? – Paragraph 1
Time marches on, the game that Basic Fantasy Role Playing Game was originally based on came out in 1977, 46 years ago this year (2023). The first RPG as mentioned came out in 1974, which is 49 years ago.
Currently: In the more than 30 years since the first role-playing game appeared, much has changed.
Suggest: In the almost 50 years since the first role-playing game appeared, much has changed.
I took the suggestion here. I'm not sure I like adding any more historical detail though.

Page 9 (5) – Dwarves – Special Abilities
Mentions that Dwarves can find traps, but elsewhere (Page 42) it is limited to stone work traps. Should that be mentioned here that the trap finding is limited to stone works.
Fixed.

Page 13 (9) – Climb Walls – Mention falling but not results.
May want to include a mention of the Falling Damage section to determine the damage received.
Done. Had to set this page at 9.5 points despite setting most text at 10 points now.

Page 16 (12) – Explanation of Equipment – Backpack paragraphs
Both Standard and Halfling Backpacks are mentioned, should the Equipment list on page 14 (10) include both?
Suggest changing the entry to Backpack (Standard and Halfling)
Done.

Only "common" elementals can be so conjured. I've added a reference to the relevant text from Monsters for this, and removed the listing of specific types.

Page 28 (24) – Fly – Paragraph 2
The last paragraph indicates that if the spell is dispelled the flying charcter falls. Should this include a blurb about the character receiving falling damage. It is mentioned in the second sentence but in the case of the spell duration running out.
Cross reference added.

Page 30 (26) – Invisibility – Missing Sentence
The first sentence just says, “ becomes invisible.” The words from the original were from the SRD. Thinking it was just missed.
It was. Fixed.

Page 30 (26) – Lightning Bolt – Flesh Golems
Should the special healing for the Flesh Golems be mentioned here?
No, I don't think so. Calling out a class of monsters is fine, but I don't want to get into the habit of tagging a specific monster type in a spell description like this.

Page 38 (34) – Sleep – 4 HD opponents
The spell says that it affects 3HD or less and is not effective on 5 HD creatures. The orignal 3rd edition had it that 4HD and above are not affected.
Gotta say, that was sloppy of me. Now you can make Ogres sleep.

Page 45 (41) – Time and Scale – Full width
The Time and Scale section is full page width, thinking it should be in column format to be consistent with rest of text in the book.
That was a stylistic choice I made when putting the book together in 2006. I still like it, honestly.

Reference added.

Page 50 (46) – Mercenaries – Table
The cost doesn’t indicate the denomination of money to use may want to have gp after each cost.
Fixed

Page 58 (54) and Page 59 (55) – Oil and Holy Water – Possibly move
Could these sections be moved up to be under the Grenade Like Weapons section so the Grenade like information is all together?
Yes, that's a good idea. In the current flow, Grenade-Like Missiles is at the end of an even page, with Oil and Holy Water on the facing page.

Ack. No, not in this case. The hit dice given on the second line, for non-canon undead, are not meant to coincide with the monsters the columns are named for. I've added a note to the text explaining this.

Page 59 (55) – Turning the Undead – Possible Move
Could this section be moved to the same page as the Clerics vs. Undead Table?
The flow was broken here. The table is anchored to the page, and the pages had rearranged so it was in the wrong place. Same for the Attack Bonus table.

I might add an option in the GM section explaining that it's up to the GM and offering options.

Page 61 (57) – Deafness and Blindness – Paragraph 3
Should it be made clear, “Do Blindness and Invisibility penalties stack?”
The last paragraph says they are the same. I'll clarify it.

I paraphrased it a bit but used your example.

Page 64 (60) – Monsters – Paragraph 13 (Marked as Morale)
Should there be mention to use the Morale section in the Encounters chapter?
Yes. Also added cross-reference for Treasure.

Page 65 (61) to Page 149 (145) – Monsters – The use of special attacks.
One of the things that I don’t like about the monster listings is the use of ‘special’ in attack and damage. I think that the attack types should be listed since it would be so easy to just glaze over the special attacks.
Good point. I'll look at the options as I process this section.

Strangle Vine is staying. It's a good change, not a monster you use every day so not an issue to rename it. "Familiarity" is thus not relevant, and keeping some changes is a good idea.

Ooh, good one.

Fixed.

Page 68 (64) – Bear, Grizzly (or Brown) – Awkward wording
Description makes it seem the bear is 4 ft tall when standing on 2 legs.

Suggest: An adult male weighs 400 to 800 pounds and four feet high at the shoulder when on all-fours; …
Fixed.

Page 68 (64) – Bee, Giant – Paragraph 1
Add clarification to queen value
Should it be noted that the queen bee needs to be alive and not just defeated. It would be pretty useless if the queen was dead.
Not at all sure what is being said here. Defeating the queen (which probably means killing her) results in 75 XP.

Page 69 (65) – Beetle, Giant Bombardier – Stat block
Attacks and Damage remove special and put an actual attack
Suggest:
No. of Attacks: 1 bite + 1 spray
Damage: 1d6 bite + 2d6 spray
Fixed.

Page 74 (70) – Cockatrice – Stat block
Attacks and Damage remove special and put an actual attack
Suggest:
No. of Attacks: 1 beak + touch
Damage: 1d6 bite + petrification touch
Fixed.

Page 74 (70) – Crocodile – Large and Giant versions
Using the same descriptor for both Large and Giant versions.
Currently: These huge creatures …
Suggest (Large): These huge creatures …
Suggest (Giant): These gigantic creatures …
Fixed.

Page 75 (71) – Dinosaur, Deinonychus – Duplicate creature
Deinonychus is in both the Core Rules and FG1, the descriptions and stat blocks are different. Can we have an early ruling on which to actually use? Already posted 1/27/2023
Core Rules version stays. FG1 version should be dropped.

Page 76 (72) – Dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex – Stat block
Save As level is half of Hit Dice should it be increased?
Currently:
Hit Dice: 18 (+12)
Save As: Fighter 9
Yeah, probably. If I had a reason I don't remember it.

Page 77 (73) – Djinni – Stat block
Save As level is almost double of Hit Dice should it be decreased?
Currently:
Hit Dice: 7+1**
Save As: Fighter 12
No, this is intentional; they are very resistant.

I think the explanation of these things in the intro text should cover it, honestly. And I don't get the "damage" note... are we talking about directly reducing damage with a multiplier/divider? I believe what we have now is good, and I'm leaving it.

I removed the width entirely where it's irrelevant, and added a bit of explanatory text to the part where line-type breath weapons are explained.

Page 80 (76) – Cloud Dragon – Paragraph 4
Could the dragon also be able to transform into Elf or Dwarf to? Since the other humanoids are longer lived a Cloud Dragon would be able to see them more often and then be able to use them as transform type.
Good point. Changed.

Page 101 (97) – Giant, Storm – Description
Since storm giants are able to throw lightning bolts, should they also be immune to all electrical attacks? No immunity is listed for them.
Yeah, should be. Not immune but resistant, half damage.

Not clear, is it? I've fixed it. The 1d6 rolls are meant to be one-handed weapons, as is done for other monsters. Likewise the 1d10 figures for two-handed weapons. Clarified in the text.

Page 105 (101) – Golem, Bronze – Stat Block
The Save As is Fighter 10, but the Hit Dice is at 20 should the Save As be increased to match the Hit Dice level? This is similar to all the golems having Save As about half of Hit Dice.
This is by intent. I have added explanatory text.

I'm familiar with what Gary called a "Lernaean Hydra" but chose not to include it in the game, as it was not represented in the rules I was emulating. Though we are adding things, I'm not prepared to add that.

Page 115 (111) – Jelly, Glass – Name
There are two instances where the name is changed to Transparent jellies, should this be noted as an additional name in the first sentence or should ‘Transparent’ be changed to ‘Glass’?
Glass is right. Fixed.

Page 128 (124) – Purple Worm – image
The image on the page extends into the bottom margin of the page.
Flow issue. Impossible to make it work right for everyone, unfortunately.

Page 128 (124) – Purple Worm – description
With the wide range of HD should the bite and sting damage and size be altered too?
Excellent point. I've split them into two size groups with larger damage for the bigger group.

Page 129 (125) – Rat, Giant – Stat block
Should the HD of the giant rat be changed to ½ (1d4 hit points) to match other small creatures.
Yes. Fixed.

Page 133 (129) – Shadow and Shark – images
The images of the shadow and shark extend into the bottom margin of the page.
Flow issue. Too soon to worry about those.

Page 134 (130) – Shrew, Giant – Stat block
Should the HD be listed as 1 (1*) since the venomous version is described as having1* HD? This would also change the XP.
Ooh, an old error that has lived a long time. Killed at last.

Page 134 (130) – Skeleton – Stat block
Should the AC include ‘(half damage from edged weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’ to match the Skeleton entries in the Adventure Anthologies and other books.
No, though the AC text might need a slight revision. I prefer anyone reading the monster entry to read the full explanation; the short text in adventures is meant to be more of a reminder.

Page 135 (131) – Snake, Pit Viper – Paragraph 4
Since paragraph 4 is a description of rattlesnakes, should it be in the Snake, Giant Rattlesnake entry?
No, it's about the normal-sized version. Will revise a little though.
... okay, more than a little. Merged the giant rattlesnake with the pit viper entry, allowing for normal or giant versions of either type.

Page 136 (132) – Spectre – Name
Should this creature’s name be changed to the American spelling Specter? Would need to be changed throughout the book.
No, I like it this way. Yes, I'm weird.

Page 145 (141) – Wailing Morel – Description
Should the sentence that mentions that a roll on a Wandering Monster Table be above the image instead of below?
Flow issue. Too soon to worry about those.

Page 148 (144) – Yellow Mold – Description
Should Yellow Mold actually be listed as Mold, Yellow or put into the Jellies section?
Not treating it as a jelly, it lacks motility.

Page 148 (144) – Zombie - Description
Should the AC include ‘(half damage from blunt weapons, 1 point only from arrows, bolts, or sling stones)’ to match the Zombie entries in the other adventure books.
I think not, as above.

There really isn't room for it in the table, and they are marked (see below) now. It will have to be good enough.

Page 151 (147) – Adjusting Treasure Awards – Orphaned text
There are two lines of text on this page basically under the image of the backpack on Page 150 (146).
Flow error.

Page 152 (148) – All tables – d%
In all the tables d% is shown as d tilde ‘d~’ taking the bold off the character changes it back to d percentile ‘d%’. There are 5 columns with the ‘d~’ showing on this page.
Not seeing this. When you get a chance to look at the final version you'll want the new fonts. I think that's the source of the problem.

I have changed these as given. Good catch.

BTW: Page number references are done using the "cross reference" feature of LibreOffice, so we do not have to delay entering them. I was just sloppy with those "page X" references.

Gabe Fua's Notes

Add "back page" with a guide to the website, videos, etc. Still need to receive a draft from Gabe for this.
