I've done that too!

But I'm pretty cheap. Now I glue them to cereal box cardboard.

Haha, I sometimes rely on proxy minis as well for some games, and I use either pennies (well, our local equivalent, in the form of 10 kopek coins) or little squares of thin wood.
But I still prefer to have actual miniatures on their bases (the only things I keep as proxies are chits) because of how cool it looks!

I got some zombie miniatures from a store called Dollar Tree about a year ago, I painted the zombies, but it also came with tombstones and hellhounds. I started by painting the hellhounds black and then painted their mouths, eyes and teeth. I finished them today by putting an overcoat of red sparkle fingernail polish so they will "sparkle with an internal fire". Thought you would like to see them.

And nice painting as well. Great work, Alman. They could even be Klingon targs in a pinch.

Thank you both for the positive comments. I think its fun to start with a cream, gray or white piece of plastic and then put some paint on and turns into a Skeleton, Zombie, Ghoul or Hellhound. :D

This was a Christmas present from my dad. He did the wood-working, I added the door, window trim, and the paint job. I painted the minis a while ago. Even forgot I had that dwarf. The guy in the top hat is a Christmas figure repurposed as a hobbit.

My dad's a great guy.
