How to find Artist of specific work in Core Rules?

Post by CptClyde »

On the look out for sweet pieces of art to "spiff up" the hexcrawl supplement candidate I am working on and would like to use the image found in the Core rules book on page 197.
This picture here:

Can anyone tell me who did this and if I may request it's use in my doc?

I dont believe it is generally OK to use any of the core rules images elsewhere, due to those early agreements with artists that were contributing.

That said, I see loads of similar images after doing a google image search on that image, and these are generally old images which will have little chance of copyright issue (look at each for dates, anything older than 1920 is safely out of copyright protection).

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Thank you guys, helpful as always.
I wanted to use as much art as possible from the generous community people and assumed they would be most receptive to lending art to the BFRPG material. I see some awesome stuff on Google ill try then thanks.

Oh, thanks Solo, great.
While you are "here" I should ask you: how is art usually selected snd added to docs here? Does the "final production" team do it or can I start adding art if permission is given (and credited)?

Generally I do it, or Chi does. Art doesn't just need to be appropriately credited, the artist has to understand the rules for art submission (particularly, the rights they must grant and the rights they retain) and agree to them. Our "regular" crew know the rules, or at least I think they do.

Can you do it? Sure. But please, don't post in the Art Requests thread. Also understand that we, the production team, may use the same art in other works at our discretion... we just don't have enough art all the time to avoid doing so.
