How to check if a persuasion works?

Post by MichaelScott »

I didn't find anything in the manual, except the ability roll at the end, but that looks more like an optional rule or something. Searching on this forum, I've read about "reaction rolls", but in the manual I only see reaction table for monsters disposition. Can anyone clarify on this, please?

Normally that is left to pure roleplay at the table, you can, if wanting to use rules, to use the Retainer Reaction Roll table from page 39.
Another alternative is to use the Dispute Supplement.

I see, thank you. After some more research, it seems old school systems relied more on roleplaying and GM decisions, than pure rules. I like that. Anywhere I can find game examples of this old school games?

I'd actually suggest downloading Iron Falcon and reading the reaction roll rules there. They can be applied to BF nicely and work well.
