Re: Why is bullette pronounced like that?
I always thought it was a play on "bullet" and "ariete" (battering ram in spanish)
Sorry for any misspelling or writing error, I am not a native English speaker

I actually think they tried to come up with a name that looked cool by calling it the Bulette, though I always found it a bit ridiculous. In French, a boulette is a meat ball or a hamburger patty.

Since it has, roughly, the shape of a bullet, they may have been under the mistaken impression that Bullette meant bullet, giving the creature a French sounding name to make it more exotic.

I pronounce it "Land Shark".

Belette is a weasel.
It seems to have been a pun on bullet.
Boulet would have been a proper gallicization and the Boo-lay pronunciation would have been spot on.

Huh, I never heard of it being pronounced like that before. It looks like it was a mistake introduced in 2e. The 2e version also messed up the ingredients you need to create a bulette. In 2e they said snapping turtle + armadillo, but in 1e you have the missing ingredient: demons' ichor. How silly, everybody knows you need demons' ichor when you're making bulettes.
