A Sad Note
Alan Jett, one of my long-time players (he joined the group in '81 or '82 I think), is in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He has had a long battle with cancer, and today his wife called to tell me that the cancer is going to win. He has only days left to live, and may not be able to return home again.
So, tomorrow I'm going to see him. Owing to the situation, I may not be around here much. I leave the site in the capable hands of Mr. Smoot and Mr. Hyway, whom I consider able to handle whatever comes.

That is absolutely tragic to hear. Please express wishes of goodness and peace from all of us here at the BFRPG community.Solomoriah wrote:Alan Jett, one of my long-time players (he joined the group in '81 or '82 I think), is in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. For myself, I will offer prayers for him and his family during this time.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Its sad to hear of anyone having to fight that fight. I'll be praying for you and him and his family.

I saw him today. Sadly, I don't think he'll have to fight too much longer.
He was my best man, and one of my very best friends. It will not only be my game table, but my life that is impoverished by his passing.

Re: A Sad Note
I realized a little while ago that most of my interactions with Alan were over a gaming table. He always gave a gleeful fist-pump whenever he'd roll a 20. His eyebrows would go up and he'd say, "Oh, really?" whenever one of the other players would suggest doing something stupid. He was always ready to help a new player get into the game.
He always played a hero.
