It depends. Is it just a piece of art? Or is it in support of a story?

If it is a piece of art, I agree with Smoot. Doing something noticeably different in the portal makes it obvious that where you are looking is not "here".

On the other hand, it is completely reasonable that a portal would *look* like it is just a weird stone opening and that the other side of the portal looks like nothing is going on. Until someone walks around it and disappears from view! So, depending on what this picture would be used for, no change would be wanted!

Here’s a halfling I drew for Inktober. I’m making it available for use with the BFRPG project if you find a spot for it.

Love it! Nice work, Gabe (along with everything from this summer, which I enjoyed but didn't post about).

Regarding that portal picture, if it's not possible to show a different scene inside, then perhaps something coming out of it? A head and neck, with two hands gripping alongside the inside frame with fingers (tendrils?) extending around the outside trim?

Your mini bio card was a treat, too.

Good ideas. I’ll likely leave the current work alone but might create a new one from scratch that would have something more happening.

I know I only posted that in August but I already have a newer one that I feel is an improvement from that one in terms of drawing (information would still be the same). I’ll post it here soon.

Might be the best illustration of a Halfling I've ever seen
