illustrations by DB Ellis

Post by db_ellis »

Just recently got back into rpgs. I love Basic Fantasy RPG and I'd be happy to see some of my art used in future publications. Here's one of my drawings, I'll post some more when I get better scans made.

This is wonderful! Is it pencil or digital?

Again, beautiful.

Kind of a chiseled look to that. Very nice. Thanks for sharing!

"This is wonderful! Is it pencil or digital?"

Thanks! The linework is black ballpoint pen with some digital shading added after scanning.

Thanks for the shop talk and especially the inspiring drawing!

You can get such nice effects with ballpoint and get some gray shades just by varying the pressure. The digital shading really helps smooth things out too. It's just wonderful all around and hope it finds a home in a BFRPG publication soon.

Very nice. I like how you were able to capture a sense of volume and depth in your art just using a ballpoint pen. I am amazed at how diverse the art is in this forum.
