Could we have some background on the nations the Empire is invading? Is the world an Earth analog as far as flora, fauna, tech (ie: medieval), and environment goes? What demi-human races exist in this world and in which countries do they live? Is there a pantheon for clerics to choose a deity from?

I could use some more background info as well. I want to create a character that really gels with your setting.

The empire is primarily invading countries with technological advancements, The empire have recently heard of the potential weaponization in gunpowder.
I.e. cannon plans are being introduced to leading,'Crazy ' inventors

Most half humans(half lings,Etc) Have either escaped to Vertok from Varis( Pretty much the multicultural capital, the first target by the empire) Neighbouring countries, Or, have been slaughtered by the empire.

In short:Demi humans are a rare sight, about 1 in 500

1 in 50 is really fare from rare! Lest say in a town of 1000 people they're would be 20 demi-humans. Quite a lot for a super genocide empire.

Also how much starting gold do we get? I'm assuming we're using the equipment emporium.
