OK, final stand time.

"NOOOOO!!! Maju had much honor. Now you die, pirate!"

Teruk and his men charge the pirate mage.

A quick death is too good for one such as you!

Rostam engages Jab-Afri in melee.

OOC: if spell disruption rules are in use and Rostam has iniiative, he will delay to disrupt. Otherwise, he will just attack when he is able.

All righty.

A ranger fires his bow at the pirate mage. He misses.
The other ranger yells in annoyance, changes weapons, and stabs at Elias. He hits and does the turtleman for only 3 hit points.
Elias flees at top speed into the desert.
The other 3 3rd level fighters collapse into the sand, babbling.

Teruk and his 2 guys charge the pirate. They have to go 40 yards and then can engage in melee!

Only one scores a hit. The damage is only 2 hit points!

The mage looks angry and turns to cast a spell, but Rostam arrives and attacks him just as he is about to release it. The attacks is a hit! The pirate-mage takes 6 hit points. His spell is spoiled. He's taken 8 this round.

The pirate Ash is badly wounded and starts running away into the desert.

It is your round again.

OOC: Rostam will again try to strike the pirate mage on Jab-Afri's own initiative count. If Jab-Afri wins initiative and Rostam is still able to act, he will just strike.

How badly hurt does the pirate look?

The two rangers run 40 yards after Ask and fire. Both miss. He continues to flee.

Teruk and his two men attack the pirate mage. All three miss.

Elias suddenly gets it into his head to charge towards Teruk waving his staff. He doesn't reach the prince in time to attack. The three 3rd level warriors also charge towards the fray.

Jab-Afri pretends to cast a spell. Rostam isn't fooled, and waits until the mage is actually casting a real spell. Then he attacks and misses, but the spell is wasted. The pirate mage is getting very angry.

He doesn't actually look that injured. As I mentioned before, he is believed to be part Djinn himself and is a very large, imposing man.

Jab-Afri has rolled badly for initiative again, so Teruk and Rostam may act. Do the rangers still wish to chase Ash? He is rather along way off now.

Is Ash running toward the ruins? If so, the rangers will continue to chase.
Are they catching up to Ash? If so, they will continue to chase.

If not, they will come back.

Teruk is determined to end this threat here and now. He attacks the pirate mage again.

This is taking too long for Rostam's taste.
Jab-Afri may be big and strong but he is also outnumbered.

Let's grab him and tie him up!

The paladin drops the scimitar and moves in to grapple with the pirate.
This may look comical - after all, Rostam is not very brawny - but he is fast and very determined.

The rangers were about 180 yards from Ash and were not going to catch up unless someone collapsed from exhaustion in about 13 rounds time. So I think they have stopped, and run back to the melee.

Elias charges back towards the fray and is intent on attacking someone but hels not sure who. The 3 3rd level fighters also arrive this round, and attack Elias, charging with their spears. They hit him twice and do 20 hit points. He's badly hurt.

It transpires that Rostam attempts to grapple the mage at the exqact same time that Teruk tries to hit him. Both fail their attack rolls anyway, and the mage is unharmed.

The 2 sit level fighters attack the mage and both miss.

The pirate mage casts a spell - Sleep.

The charging 1st level fighters collapse on the sand. The 2nd level fighters who have been fighting the mage also do the same. The rangers are unaffected.

You now have the confused Elias, 2 rangers, and Teruk and Rostam vs. the mage. Ash has fled. Everyone else is down. The 2 rangers are in position to fire on the mage, but he is in melee.

Your move.

Teruk tells the rangers to slap the others awake and then attacks the mage again but waits to see if he needs to interrupt a spell this time (he's learning!)
