1st Chapter: The Adventure Begins
Re: 1st Chapter: The Adventure Begins
Neirin, with wide eyes stares up at the sky breathing heavily, almost panting. Then, realizing that there may be enemies nearby he looks up the slide trail he left and whispers help...help willing his comrades to come to his aid.
if it is safe for him to move, he would get the rope from his pack and attempt to lasso something to anchor himself.

Just hang on. Faylen carefully approaches where Neiran began to slide, and is looking to see if she can tell how high she is. She then pulls out her rope, ties one end to a tree or bush, and tosses the other end to Neiran. Here. Grab this.

Neirin grabs the rope to get pulled back to safety.

Neirin climbed the rope, his hands shaking a little. Once he reached the relative safety of the trail, looked around and realized that just a little further along the trail it appeared to drop into a ravine of some sort; the thick vegetation made it hard to see any more from where he stood beside Faylen.

The rest of the party (Hengist and Ranald at least) advances closer to the place where the halfling has fallen, to make sure the two scouts are all right.
Is there a way down? calls Hengist as he approaches.

I suppose you could say that. I think we should find a different one though.

It is as the wisdom texts say: "when a man is alone he may stumble, when he is with a companion he may help him up. Three are better still." Perhaps wet should tether ourselves to one another as we proceed down this hill? Tertullian advises.

Re: 1st Chapter: The Adventure Begins
To be clear: The halfling slipped and slid down the trail. When the trail took a turn, he didn't, crashing through the dense brush and ending up hanging over open space. The trail turned left, and when he regained the trail he could see it ends at the edge of a ravine. From where the front members of the party are standing, very little can be seen due to the surrounding dense foliage.

Hengist will have a look around to see if there is any sign that any creature might be climbing up and down this ravine.
