Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Bothan kicked the door, hard, and is swung open quickly and silently... until it hit the wall with a loud bang. Beyond the adventurers could see an unlit room, twenty feet deep and stretching out to their left, how far they could not tell without entering.
What they could see of the room appeared empty.
Map update soon.

Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Rowan gapes at the seemingly empty room for a moment.
"They are trying to lure us further in.
Careful, there might be a trap here, too.
Yo, Faylen, can you come look at this?"
Faylen smirks - apparently, the big, strong and noisy men need some help.
She will move to the front an check the door, threshold and then the floor on the other side for triggers, tripwires, or other suspicious things.
[OOC: is there anything visible inside the room from the door, e.g., furniture or signs of habitation?]

Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Hengist keeps stationary at F5 and listens out in all 3 directions (including outside).
Ranald has his crossbow out and will keep watch from G2 over the door at I1. Hopefully he is still hidden in shadows there. There is no light present so maybe he is in total darkness, which would be good.

The part of the room you can see is empty. The slightly damp floor shows lots of signs of traffic though.Rhialto wrote:[OOC: is there anything visible inside the room from the door, e.g., furniture or signs of habitation?]

Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Faylen examined the open doorway carefully, but found nothing dangerous. Looking further into the room, she saw only scattered bits of straw and rags, and a cracked urn near the wall far back to the left. Drawing a slow breath, she smelled a rank odor, a smell of old excrement with a metallic tang that she could not identify.

Ranald and Hengist will hold in their previously indicated positions.
(OOC - I'm acting as rear-guard in case they come through the door at I1. You guys should go ahead and secure the new room...)

Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Faylen tenses for a moment, then steps across the threshold into the room, holding her breath (not least because of the stench, but also expecting another poison gas or spore trap).
Re: 2nd Chapter: Into the Darkness
Bothan is following Faylen, pike in hand.
