Re: HAKKI the DWARF
[OOC: I assume this is the next turn now.]
If his opponent does not show up, Hakki will move behind the central pillar (initiative 1, 6 steps to J10).

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Your opponent does take a cautious peek out from behind his pillar at D19, ready to shoot.
Becuase you were watching that pillar last round, I will let you attack first, and he will let fly almost straight afterwards. Then you can move back behind the pillar.
He has partial cover from the pillar (-2) and so do you. The range is medium so there are no penalties there. Roll to hit!

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Hakki misses (rolled a 6, +1 attack bonus, -2 cover = 5) and mumbles something about elven toys again.
Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Your opponent also misses wildly. The bolt imbeds itself in the wall behind you.
You have ducked back behind your pillar, I believe.
It's a crap shoot. Strangely, there are cheers from the crowd, who start counting up from 1 again.
Roll init and declare your action.

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Hakki decides to move behind the central pillar (initiative 5, double move 8 spaces to K11), since his opponent can't shoot right now.
He mumbles into his beard: "Why the counting? They gonna release the hounds if we keep missing?"
[OOC: Hakki can't move and reload at the same time, right?]

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
That's correct - reloading a light crossbow takes the entire round.
You have moved over behind the central pillar. You do not see your opponent, the dwarf, who has said nothing the whole fight. You'd guess he is reloading, but maybe not. You can't hear, it's too loud with all the people chanting.
At the end of the round, you notice that one of your remaining quarrels is vibrating slightly It's in a small pouch you were given at your hip. The other quarrel seems to be OK.
Next round. Roll for init.

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Hakki reloads the crossbow with the vibrating quiver (initiative 6).
"Explosive elven toy, perhaps? Let's get rid of it..."

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
You act as instructed. You cannot hear what your opponent has done in this round either and you do not know where he is.
The counting is getting louder and more excited as it builds past 10 and onto 11 and 12...
New round. Roll init and act.

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
Hakki moves a few steps forward with his crossbow at the ready (2 steps to K13, initiative 3).
If he can see his opponent now, he will fire at him.
If he can't see him, he will fire the suspicious bolt at the wall behind C19, hoping (or fearing) that it will explode.

Re: HAKKI the DWARF
You move around the right side of the pillar? Clever. He was covering the left side.
I'll rule that he needs to beat you for initiative to get a shot in. He does so, narrowly.
He fires and misses badly. The bolt flies off in the direction of S12, well behind you and to your left. You hear some "oooohs from the crowd" and some cheering.
You shoot almost immediately afterwards. You can see him. He is at D19 and has partial cover. If you want to shoot, you can.
