Basic Fantasy RPG Forums

Not a published adventure, this takes place in and around Ravenstone on the Northern continent of the Western Lands. The people of Ravenstone are not necessarily evil, but the accumulation of money is their prime focus, more of a neutral "greedy".

The city although declared "free", still has strong ties to the Urdish Empire. Slavery is legal and a big money maker. The Thieves' Guild has equal footing with the Merchants' Guild and sometimes they work together. The usual complements of orcs, kobolds, goblins and bugbears are rare if not nil, but there are plenty of other dangers present.

The party will be all human, Ravenstone does not have any official treaties with the elves, dwarves and halflings on the Northern continent and there can be armed conflict.

Start thinking about your PC, human only, alignment is not used, any class.

I will work around any shortcomings.

There will be no player on player combat, no PC will actually own slaves...however, pickpockets is another story.

Won't be for overly mature group but remember there are no Boy Scouts in Ravenstone.

I wouldn't pick fey mage, jester or druid. Ranger, assassin, the usual ones, etc is fine.

This is meant to be a departure from normal play.

If you play a banker and foreclose on the widow, nobody is going to hunt you down.

If you rough up a suspect you won't get hit with a brutality suit.

You are men and women in a harsh environment, acting accordingly.

You are just doing your job, you can have a good streak just don't show it.

If you don't like to capture escaped slaves, you can let them go with repercussions.

This is a chance to roleplay the other guy.
