Paladin hisses down to Tannen that we need to negotiate pay, room and board with Shaw. Then he groans and sounds like he passes out.

Gannicus looks at Shaw expectantly, assuming he would initiate the conversation about wages and logistics for the upcoming journey.

Tannen ignores the hung-over halfling on the roof of his wagon and converses with the driver of cart 4 about his past and where he has travelled. He'll try and subtly extra information about what's in the wagons.
"What did yer call me?"
Whilst you're busy organising yourselves on the wagons, Shaw and Kitchener emerge from the Wheatsheaf muttering conspiratorially with one anotherHywaywolf wrote:"Yo, Shaw. Thanks for the free ride to Westport ol' bertie boy arranged with you."
At Doughbert's outburst, Kitchener's demeanour changes in an instant - from sly nonchalance to downright threatening. "What did yer call me?" he hisses through clenched teeth at the halfling.
His two henchmen, Jan and Donny appear from inside the inn and stand just behind Kitchener, one on either side, glaring at Doughbert menacingly.
Shaw laughs nervously and glances back and forth between Doughbert and Kitchener, wondering what's going to happen.

having already strung his bow in preparation for 'guard' duty, Doughbert readies himself to take action if any of the goons choose to start something, then says easily and non-threateningly, "If I have to put up with being called Bertie's Boy you can put up with being called Bertie. If that's a name you don't like, you can straighten it out with your townspeople."

Kitchener goes bright red with fury at the first mention of the "B" word. With the second, it looks as if his eyes might bulge right out of his head. Donny and Jan step forward, both staringly fixedly at Doughbert and producing knives from seemingly nowhere. "You've got exactly 10 seconds to get down from that wagon and apologise to Mr. Kitchener for your lack of respect," says Jan fingering his blade. "Otherwise, we take your tongue out," he continues matter of factly.Hywaywolf wrote:having already strung his bow in preparation for 'guard' duty, Doughbert readies himself to take action if any of the goons choose to start something, then says easily and non-threateningly, "If I have to put up with being called Bertie's Boy you can put up with being called Bertie. "One ... two ... ," begins Donny.

Meanwhile ... the driver of wagon 4 leans over and whispers something to Tannen (Birthright PM-ed).Birthright wrote:Tannen ignores the hung-over halfling on the roof of his wagon and converses with the driver of cart 4 about his past and where he has travelled.
