Don't sweat it. This style of playing is weird until you get used to it; then it's pretty fun. I was all kinds of awkward when I first started.

In another game, we have spent weeks trying to decide what to do next and so I just decided to make things happen and opened the door and walked in and said howdy to the warriors in the room. So far I am still alive. There are no dumb moves, just fatal and non-fatal ones.
