Saving Throw Options Supplement: interested in me doing it?
I had the idea the other day of doing a short supplement with a couple of alternative saving throw methods. Is this something anyone else would go for?
Re: Saving Throw Options Supplement: interested in me doing it?
I think having such a supplement would address the needs of those who like the latter-edition style of saves (Fort/Reflex/Will)... or the even simpler style of S&W saves (one progression by class). I saw also an alternate sort of save arrangement much like the one found in our core system, but named differently and having a little more logical spread of such saves (including a Luck save and a Chutzpa save (sort of a force of personality)).LibraryLass wrote:I had the idea the other day of doing a short supplement with a couple of alternative saving throw methods. I say go for it.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

I'd like to see such a supplement as well.

I'd be interested in including that system you mentioned with the luck and chutzpah saves, Smoot, do you have any idea where you saw it?

I think it could use a bit more development, but the idea is here:LibraryLass wrote:I'd be interested in including that system you mentioned with the luck and chutzpah saves, Smoot, do you have any idea where you saw it?

If one is doing a saving throw supplement, it certainly merits inclusion... or something like it but tailored more to our needs with BFRPG.
We briefly talked about this here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=990&start=0&st=0&sk ... lit=saving

+1. It's a good idea. I have players from other editions/games and they might like it.

I like the idea. I always wanted a cross between 3.5 and c&c or a primary vs secondary mechanic

I've often wished that BFRPG had the single saving throw (S&W) or FORT/REF/WILL. So much simpler. The tricky part is deciding on how to map these into the classic saves (a lot of controversy on that.) If anything maybe a rule for calculating single saves. Go for it!

I wouldn't mind seeing it.. One of the things I did like about 4e was the active attack against the save just like attacking AC. So instead of you having to beat the reflex, to avoid the trap, the trap had to beat your reflex in order to hit you.

Talk to teluria (Larry) for some ideas. He's trying out Fort/Ref/Will in our Saturday game.
Go with a smile!
