Re: New Spells Supplement

I added a bunch of spells to the Necromancer Supplement a while back.

Smoot asked for those for the Libram Magica. Feel free to use any you care for.

Hmm... so no Burning Hands then? That's fine. I was just wondering if someone had published it (or an equivalent) -- unless I'm missing it. Thanks.

I guess is not on the core rules because it does not appear on the B/X books, feel free to ask to be incorporated in the Libram Magica thread.

Well neither is Sanctuary or any of the "rare" spells in Libram Magica. But OK, I might. Just checking to see if it went by a different name in one of the existing sups. Thanks again.

Libram Magica is the place where all the non-core spells goes, if some spell is missing there there's the possibility that nobody submitted it, like feather fall which does not appear on B/X nor in the LM.

On the LM anybody can add spells, be it from other editions or custom made.

Indeed. Seeing that I have had very sparse time to do much creative work, I would be quite happy to allow others to take charge of a new release of the Libram Magica. My new job duties have had me working a lot of hours and responsibilities that cross over into my personal time; add to that I have a family with 3 children with various school and extracurricular activities... end result is little creative energy over the last year.

Of course a project like the Libram Magica just screams for continued development. Spells, Spells, and More Spells... as I introduce the document on the Showcase Page. I would be overjoyed to see much more added, as well as thrilled if our talented art contributors felt like adding their touches to the document. Given its overall length, this too would make a worthy 'print edition' in the future.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Let's make an important clarification: any edition/game released under the OGL and that material is definitely open content. Otherwise it can't be used as-is (though a contributor is welcome to create their own version for the LM).

Hey folks. I'm trying to clean up some of the links on my site, and I was wondering if there is a link to "New Spells" that I can use that won't change? I noticed some of the materials have their own landing page, but the stuff on http://basicfantasy.org/downloads.html doesn't seem to. I'd rather not link directly the the r4 version of the PDF because I think that could change.

You can use this link: http://basicfantasy.org/downloads.html#newspells

I've seen Solo use links for several of the download items in the past. I found the above by viewing the page source for the downloads page; each entry will have for example

Code: Select all

<a name='newspells'>
above the actual text/entry. These links will always work, even if/when new releases for that item are made.
