Players Handbook

Post by quozl »

I just started a campaign last week with players that have never played an RPG before so I decided to make a players handbook, which is everything in the book up to the monster section. I modified the table of contents and index to reflect the missing content.

I thought it might also be useful for others who want to make a players handbook so here it is!

I did find an error with the positioning of the picture for the halfling. That's fixed now.

My daughter pointed out some numbers in the index are wrong.

The index to the core rules haven't been exhaustively checked since the last edition. There could be errors in there... nobody else has complained, though, as far as I can remember.

If this is mostly complete you can post to your showcase rather than attached to forum post.

I see some overlap/confusion b/w this, core, and the beginners essentials, but if others find a use for it that's cool.

I see the B.E. as something you give new players before play, and the P.H. as something to let them have on their own once they are a little more familiar with the game.

Nice work, as a GM I like everything in one book, but for players I don't see the need for their books to include GM only info, like monster stats, magic item descriptions and the how to run a game sections.

Thanks for this! I'm starting a BFRPG game for my son and some friends of his. I'm having a few sets of this Player's Handbook printed and bound so each kid can have their own copy of the rules. Sure to be a big hit at our next game!
The Hooded Man will come to the forest, there to meet with Herne the Hunter, to be his son and do his bidding.
