Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 4th Edition
What happened to the Quest spell? In 3e it was slightly different in a way that it caused damage and not stat dicrease. Now it works exactly the same as Geas, almost word for word. The only difference is that the reversed versions of the spells can't be used to cancel each other (reverse Quest can't cancel Geas and vice versa).,
Can't we simply restore the damage? I don't think it would be too close to the OGL.
Also: SPELLS > Regenerate: "98-91%: Kobold". Change to "89-91%" so the table makes sense.

The magic item version of Delusion has an example; example characters may have gender. I do need to make an effort to split them more or less evenly, but there aren't a lot of example characters in the game.
... perhaps I should use the four iconic characters. Hmm.

... also, I fixed all the other instances, and added a line clarifying that only living creatures can drink potions.

I avoided all instances where an example using a named character was given, Delusion simply referred as "the drinker", I took it as a generic drinker, instead of a specific male one.Solomoriah wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 4:17 pm The magic item version of Delusion has an example; example characters may have gender. I really like when this is done, makes the examples feel more "real" and gives a sense of continuity.Solomoriah wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 4:17 pm ... perhaps I should use the four iconic characters. Hmm.

A last minute idea, Character creation has a pc sheet as an image, if using the same 4 iconic characters it could be cool to have an appendix with a step by step example of their creation, and their full sheets included.

Not doing all four, but I might do one for Darion since I have his sheet.

The 4 have their data on the last page of BF1 Morgansfort

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 4th Edition
If we're doing this, it might be useful to explain the differences between Darion in the BF1 and in Core Rules: in Core Rules, he picked a shield and this increased his AC.
I was confused at first about why my numbers don't match the example when I was soloing Morgansfort (I did it to learn about the rules better... BTW Darion was killed by striges)
