One thing though, I would probably lock this thread until level 2 is completed. We are still missing 9 rooms.

Room 3 - Tiny Shrine

The interior walls are polished stone and the floor has a single handwoven rug, pointed toward a raised wooden platform. The platform's edge has been hand-carved with symbols you don't recognize. In the centre is a simple wooden statue with offerings of food, flowers, and bowls of dried blood at its feet. There are no chairs or benches, but there are small cushions in the corners flanking the door. Next to one is a small wooden bucket containing a brush and dirty water.

This is an improvised shrine to an unknown deity. The GM may freely choose one, or create it. It may even be a deity of the shrine creator's own invention. The rug is a prayer mat worth about 50 gp. The cushions are worthless, but are there so the user can sit in quiet reflection or meditation.

The statue may be worth 25 gp to the right buyer. A merchant or Cleric may be able to tell the PCs what deity it depicts, but if the shrine's owner should happen to see the rug or statue in the possession of the party, there will be trouble.

Room 16 - The slaughter

Read whether approached via the stairs and passage from dungeon level 2, or the corridors in level 3

The air is filled with the smell of blood, so much blood, like the aftermath of battle, or a dreadful massacre. Limbs and torsos are scattered around the room. The bodies are easily identified as Bugbears.

If a cleric casts speak with dead they learn that a "fell creature tore through the room, killing without uttering a sound".

GM note:
The creature which passed through was the female Human depicted in the statue in Room 14, Lvl 2 - The Lovers. She is actually a succubus who enchanted her elven "beau". She slaughtered the 4 bugbears just for sport whilst journeying down to the lower levels where her master awaits...

Where do the stairs from dungeon level 2 lead to on dungeon level 3?

The trapdoor in area 10 (The Shattered Hallway) on dungeon level 2 leads to room 12 on level 3, but area 16 could be more appropriate.

The trapdoor at 2.10 (level 2, area 10) connects to 3.7. The stairs down at 2.2 go to the north corridor into 3.1. The stairs south of 2.11 lead to 3.16.

The stairs at 2.2 would have to be quite steep; I'll revise both maps to correct that. It's my intent in this dungeon that every 10 feet of stairs descend 7.5 feet, and most levels will be spaced 30 feet apart (floor to floor) so that four squares of steps are needed to go down one level. I don't think I mentioned that before, which is my fault; we do need to review the level-dropping pits to verify that they are the right depth.

Interestingly, 2.17 is an exact overlay match to 3.3, which was not intentional; and both are secret rooms...

Hmm. The stairs north of 1.23 down to 2.1 are also too short.
