Slaeghunder's Sketches
Mountain Trolls
Native to the Jotungard Mountains in the Northern Wilds of Norskheim, Mountain trolls are brutish creatures, standing 10 to 12 feet tall in a hunched position. Their wide, hairless muzzled faces bristle with teeth and two large tusks. Their gaping maws are not made for human or goblin speech, though they may understand it. Their own language is composed of growls, whistles, clicks, and roars. They have long, pointed ears and goat-like horns protrude from a thick, leonine mane of greasy blue-black hair, much longer than the mottled grey and green fur that covers the rest of their body. They don’t fashion or wear clothing, and any weapons they bear beyond their teeth and talons tend to be small tree trunks and large rocks, but some possess crudely forged iron shod clubs or pieces of armor of Orcish make - gifts for joining the armies of Naz’Shirrat on their forays south into the lands of men.
Mountain Trolls generally can be depended on to be extremely aggressive, as much to any other creature as to men in particular. They hardly tolerate even their own kind, and for this reason they are rarely encountered in numbers. Mating pairs or a female with young is the only exception to this rule, and either case is exceedingly dangerous, as they will be insanely hostile even by Troll standards.
Trolls will kill and eat Orcs unless they are overwhelmingly outnumbered and even then will only cooperate or take direction so long as they are forced to. If a Troll leaves Goblins alive it is only to bully and enslave them. Goblin tribes beholden to a Troll are always hostile to outsiders, for if they fail to bring their master a meal it will be one of their own who goes into the cook pot. A popular story circulating among the Sa’ati holds that one of their elders long ago, as a young man, was able to strike a truce with a Goblin tribe after tricking their mountain troll “Chief” into falling from a tall cliff, and to this day the descendants of that elder’s kin trade with that Goblin tribe – though no one can say for sure which Sa’ati kin or Goblin tribe that is.
(This picture isn't great, but I really like basically the center of it, the eyes and face and mouth. Everything else is kind of ... eeehhhhh)

Re: Slaeghunder's Sketches
I cleaned up the lines but then kind of ruined it by trying to do colors. I am a pen and ink sketcher mostly.

thanks!
Re: Slaeghunder's Sketches
Very nice. The beady little eyes, tusks, hair are all great details on a monstrous face!
