Hello

My name is Peter and I'm from Sweden. This seems to be a nice and friendly community and I generally love the idea of Creative Commons. I have read most of the Core Rules but not played Basic Fantasy yet. Hopefully I will some day.

Hi, I'm Josh. I got into bfrpg as I liked the old ways of d&d but liked the qol of d20. I am new to the game, so I'll probably have loads of questions, but I hope to chat with you all and have great discussions! I played a bit of 5e, but didn't like it as I felt it was a boardgame with special rules. Skimming through basic fantasy, it seems much more up my alley. Thanks everyone.

Been playing since 77 with whitebox DND. I am mostly into sci-fi and other genre now, but I do on occasion run fantasy. I have been looking for an alternative to 5e, something more old school. Tried ose-af, osric and now want to try basic fantasy, my group and I are 1st Ed fans.

Hello, i am writing from Estonia!
I have played 5e D&D for quite sometime now, about 5 years. I really liked the system until i heard about the new Wotc decisions . I still liked the system but heard there was a new one coming out soon and didn't feel like wanting to learn a new system that was basically just 5e. Then i discovered the osr and alot of wondrous systems along with it. One day i found a video on youtube talking about basic fantasy and what it has to offer. My favourite book has always been the dying earth by Jack Vance so this really seemed to be right up my alley. I did some research about the game and here i am!

Hi all! I’m LapsuS. I’m from Italy and super excited to be part of this community! I used to DM as a teen and I’m now looking into restarting in one form or another. That’s how Indiscovered this fantastic project!
I have some ideas in mind - I’d love to work on a campaign setting based on Italian’s renaissance and magic chivalry poems like Orlando Furioso. I’m also a game developer and would love to eventually make an RPG. Only ideas and aspirations for now!

Welcome LapsuS, a campaign setting based on the renaisance would be pretty amazing! I wish you lot's of luck with that, I'd love to see some details on it if you go ahead with it!

Hi there! I live in Bonn, Germany.

I have very little experience with RPGs (played D&D a couple of times) but recently came into BFRPG after discovering solo gaming. I wanted something not as rule-heavy as D&D, and the open source philosophy of BFRPG looked super appealing to me.

I'm running my first campaign with myself and having lots of fun!

I yam who I yam…

Hello Y'all - Long time lurker here and the FB group. I posted early this year that I'm in Durham NC.
GreatScot! Or Scot is my IRL handle.

Been playing RPGs since Original Redbox D&D back in 1979.
Soon transitioned to AD&D1e. Played and collected for many years. Ran a long term campaign when I lived in the Virgin Islands back in the 80's.

Played: OD&D, BECMI D&D, AD&D 1.e/2e, Gamma World, Star Frontiers, Classic Traveller, Twilight 2000, 2300, GURPS (Hated it), Palladium, Space Opera, Robo-tech, MERP, Iron Crown, etc, Harn, but only as support material for OSR/AD&D/C&C
A little 5e, but def not my favorite… S&W, OSE but both lose out to BFRPG for me.

The Covid time: Four Against Darkness & BFRPG Solo ever since.

I just got a group started with brand new player and 3 grognards who haven't played in a long time, using BFRPG of course! Starting out core, and adding supplements from there.

If there is an interest I'll post out session reports.

Happy to have this resource and community!
